Tait TP9300
The TP9300 is Tait's entry-level DMR portable with full quad-mode support across DMR Tier 3, DMR Tier 2, analog, and MPT1327. Available in 16, 256, and 4,000-channel configurations, it lets organizations match radio capability and cost to each tier of their workforce. GNSS and Bluetooth iBeacon provide both indoor and outdoor location tracking.
Overview
Not every worker on a commercial fleet needs the same radio capability. Supervisors managing complex trunked systems need 4,000-channel capacity, while general labor may only need basic push-to-talk on a handful of channels. Buying the same full-spec radio for every user is expensive and unnecessary.
The TP9300 addresses this with three channel capacity variants: the TP9300 with 4,000 channels across 100 zones, the TP93T5 with 256 channels, and the TP9310 with 16 channels. All variants cover VHF, UHF, and 700/800MHz bands and run Quad-mode operation across DMR Tier 3 Trunking, DMR Tier 2 Conventional, Analog Conventional FM, and MPT1327 Trunking. Power output ranges from 5W VHF down to 1W depending on band and model. DMR sensitivity is -119dBm (0.25uV) at 1% BER across all bands. Modular battery options include slimline (325g total), performance, and high capacity configurations.
IP65 and IP68 ratings alongside MIL-STD-810G certification for humidity, sand and dust, vibration, shock, rain, and solar radiation make the TP9300 ready for outdoor commercial use. Operating temperature runs -10 degrees C to 60 degrees C. Integrated GNSS plus Bluetooth iBeacon delivers location coverage whether workers are outside or inside a facility, and WiFi OTAP keeps large fleets programmable without pulling radios from service.
Key Features
Three Channel Capacity Tiers
Available in 4,000-channel (TP9300), 256-channel (TP93T5), and 16-channel (TP9310) configurations. This lets you deploy a cost-matched radio to each user tier, putting full-capacity hardware where it is needed and reducing spend on general labor positions that only need basic channel access.
Quad-Mode Protocol Compatibility
Runs DMR Tier 3 Trunking, DMR Tier 2 Conventional, Analog Conventional FM, and MPT1327 Trunking in a single unit. This covers every likely migration scenario from legacy analog or MPT networks to a full DMR Tier 3 trunked system without replacing hardware mid-transition.
Dual Indoor and Outdoor Location
Integrated GNSS handles outdoor tracking while Bluetooth iBeacon detection covers indoor spaces where GPS signals do not reach. Tait GeoFencing allows automated actions based on location, such as alerting supervisors when a worker enters a restricted zone or fails to exit at shift end.
Compact and Lightweight
At 5.35 x 2.56 x 1.61 inches and starting at 325g with the slimline battery, the TP9300 is designed for long-shift comfort. The modular battery system lets you trade weight against runtime depending on the deployment, choosing slimline, performance, or high capacity configurations per use case.
WiFi OTAP
Over-the-air programming via WiFi allows centralized configuration management without physically accessing each radio. Fleet administrators can push channel plan updates, feature licenses, and firmware across large deployments, reducing the labor cost of keeping a distributed fleet current.
Safety Features Standard
Man Down, Lone Worker, and emergency key functionality are available across the TP9300 series. Tait GeoFencing adds automated location-based safety responses. TAIT AXIOM Wearable compatibility provides an upgrade path to LTE connectivity for workers in areas with broadband coverage.
